How to Attach a Bike Duck — In About 10 Seconds

Fitting a BikeDuck is genuinely one of the easiest things you'll do all day. No tools, no fuss. Here's exactly how.

What you need: Your BikeDuck. That's it.

Step by step:

1. Place the duck on top of your handlebar, roughly between the grip and the centre, where it won't get in the way of your brakes or gears.
2. Stretch the elastic strap down and under the bar.
3. Hook the strap onto the base of the duck.
4. Adjust so your duck faces proudly forward.
5. Test it — give it a gentle squeak or tap to check it's secure.

That's it. You're ready to roll.

Will it fit my bike?

The flexible strap fits most standard handlebar sizes. It's also a hit on scooters (brilliant for the school run and younger riders), works on motorbike bars, and some people even pop them on their mirrors. As long as the strap reaches around the bar and the duck doesn't block your controls, you're good.

A few sensible notes:

- Make sure the duck doesn't interfere with brakes, gears or your main lights.
- The built-in LED is a fun novelty light — it doesn't replace a proper front light for night riding.
- For very young children, supervise fitting (some models have small parts).
- Ducks are splash-resistant and fine in rain and puddles, but shouldn't be fully submerged — especially with the light fitted.
